At Archstone Retail in Orlando, Apex installed a new EPDM membrane roof over an occupied retail building, keeping storefronts and parking open while the work was done.

The brief

Replace the roof on an active retail building without closing stores or losing parking.

The challenge

Tenants open for business below, customer parking around the building, and Florida weather on a large low-slope roof.

What we did

Installed an EPDM membrane system with new flashings at curbs, penetrations and edges, staged from the rear so storefronts stayed open.

The result

A new, watertight roof over the retail center, completed with the tenants trading throughout.

Project context

EPDM roof replacement on a retail center in Orlando, Florida

At Archstone Retail in Orlando, Apex installed a new EPDM membrane roof over an occupied retail building, with new flashings at curbs, penetrations and edges.

Retail roofs are replaced while stores stay open. Work was staged from the rear of the building, material was hoisted away from customer entrances, and each day’s section was made watertight before the crew left.
