Fire-damaged TPO roof, replaced and warrantied in three weeks

The owner brought Apex in after a fire damaged the roofing system over Sugar Flats, a 171-unit occupied community in Salt Lake City. The roof was inspected, slope-verified and replaced with a warrantied single-ply system while residents stayed home.

The brief

Address fire-related damage to the existing roof at Sugar Flats and put a system on the building that keeps water out for the long term.

The challenge

Replacement alone was not enough. The job needed a full diagnostic inspection, slope verification and a system upgrade to stop future moisture intrusion — on a building where residents stayed home throughout.

What we did

Proposed and installed a Versico VersiWeld 60-mil TPO assembly matched to the existing substrates, self-performed by Apex crews with material from Beacon Supply. Apex has since returned for an exterior mezzanine renovation, ADA door replacements, unit repairs and ceiling repairs.

The result

A watertight roof delivered in three weeks and on budget, with a 15-year watertight warranty and no disruption to residents.

Sugar Flats is a 171-unit multifamily property in Salt Lake City. After fire damage to the existing roof, the building needed more than a patch. Apex ran a full diagnostic inspection, verified slope, and upgraded the system to stop future moisture intrusion.
